Biography of Ray Muzyka
Ray Muzyka is a Canadian entrepreneur, co-founder, and CEO of BioWare Corp. He is also the co-founder and CEO of BioWare Label of Electronic Arts. Muzyka and his former classmate at the University of Alberta, Greg Zeschuk, founded BioWare in 1995. They both studied medicine together and decided to venture into the gaming industry.

After BioWare was acquired by Electronic Arts in 2008, Muzyka became the general manager and vice-president of Electronic Arts, in addition to his role as CEO of BioWare. He was also the executive producer for several games, including "Shattered Steel," the "Baldur's Gate" series, "MDK2," "MDK2: Armageddon," the "Neverwinter Nights" series, "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic," "Jade Empire," and "Mass Effect."
Under Muzyka's leadership, BioWare released successful games such as "Dragon Age: Origins," a fantasy game for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, and the sequel to "Mass Effect," titled "Mass Effect 2." The company's recent projects include "Star Wars: The Old Republic," a multiplayer game developed in collaboration with LucasArts, "Mass Effect 3," released in 2012, and the free game "Wrath of Heroes."
BioWare has studios in various cities, including Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; Austin, Texas, USA; Galway, Ireland; Fairfax, Virginia; Montreal, Quebec, Canada; and San Francisco and Sacramento, California.
Aside from software development, Muzyka is involved in the financial, human resources, and marketing aspects of the company. He holds a Master's in Business Administration from the Ivey School of Business.
From 2001 to 2008, Muzyka was a member of the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences. He is also the chairman of the board of directors for CodeBaby Corp., a company specializing in the development of futuristic interfaces for electronic media and the internet.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Muzyka is an avid poker player. He participates in the World Series of Poker and other tournaments. In 2006, he won the DICE tournament, competing against renowned poker stars such as Scott Fischman, Perry Friedman, and Chris Ferguson. He also played alongside Michael Morhaime, the president of Blizzard, in the tournament's final table.
