Biography of Raymond Kwok

Raymond Kwok Ping Luen, a Hong Kong businessman, inherited the massive business empire of Hong Kong's Sun Hung Kai in 1990 after the death of his father. He is the youngest son of Kwok Tak Seng, the founder of Sun Hung Kai Properties, the largest real estate company in Hong Kong, and his wife Kwong Siu-hing, who became the most influential figure in managing the company after her husband's death. In addition to being one of the co-chairmen and managing directors of Sun Hung Kai Properties, Kwok also serves as a global judge. Furthermore, he holds leadership positions in SUNeVision Holdings Ltd. and SmarTone Telecommunications Holdings Limited.

Raymond Kwok Ping Luen was born in Hong Kong in 1952, but his family's hometown is Zhongshan in Guangdong province, mainland China. Walter Kwok and Thomas Kwok, also well-known figures in Hong Kong, are his older brothers, but the age difference between the brothers is small, and they are all close. In March 2012, Raymond Kwok and Thomas Kwok were arrested on charges of bribery. The Kwok brothers rank third on the list of the richest people in Hong Kong and Greater China, trailing only Li Ka Shing, one of the most influential business people in Asia, and Lee Shau Kee, the founder of Henderson Land Development Company Limited. Their combined wealth is estimated by Forbes at 17 billion US dollars, thus they occupy a significant position in the lists of global billionaires.

Raymond obtained a degree in law from Cambridge University and a degree in business administration from Harvard University. Additionally, he has been awarded honorary doctorates from the Open University of Hong Kong and the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
