Early Life and Education
Born in Yerevan, Armenia, Tatoyan completed his secondary education at Yerevan School No. 32 in 1978.
Military Service and Early Career
From 1969 to 1971, Tatoyan served in the Soviet Army, where he gained discipline and leadership experience. After his military service, he worked at the Yerevan Auto Parts Plant from 1971 to 1974, rising to the position of shift manager in the workshop.
Political Involvement
Tatoyan's political involvement began in 1971, when he became a member of the underground National United Party. This marked the start of his journey in advocating for Armenian self-determination.
Industrial Experience
From 1984 to 1990, Tatoyan held various positions at several Yerevan factories, demonstrating his understanding of industry and economic development.
Government Career
In May 2002, Tatoyan was appointed Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia. His tenure was marked by his efforts to improve economic growth and governance. On December 17, 2005, he was elected a member of the council of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), a prominent political party in the country.
