Early Years
ChronosIn the spring of 1980, Oleg Klimenko (guitar), Evgeny Obryvchenko (keyboards), and Vladimir Kirilin (drums) formed the student band "Chronos" in Kharkiv, Ukraine. In 1981, they performed at the "Azyisi-81" festival in Baku.
Group Prodlenogo Dnya (GPD)
In January 1987, Pavel Mikhailenko joined "Chronos" as bassist and vocalist. His songs expanded their repertoire, leading to a name change to "Gruppa Prodlenogo Dnya" (GPD).
Rise of Raznye Lyudi
The Riga FestivalIn July 1987, Pavel Mikhailenko, Alexander Chernetsky (leader of "Rok-Front"), and Konstantin Kostenko embarked on a rock festival in Riga. They formed an impromptu band, "Raznye Lyudi" (Different People), and performed on the streets. Their performance caught the attention of the festival organizer, Andrey Ykhimovich, who arranged for them to perform on the main stage.
GPD's Transformation
Upon their return, Chernetsky was invited to join GPD. His uncompromising songs became the foundation of the band's new repertoire. The group toured extensively and won acclaim at the 3rd Gorokhovsky Rock Club Festival in 1988 and the 6th Leningrad Rock Festival, where they were hailed as one of the most promising discoveries.
Division and Reunion
Troika, Semerka, Tuz (37T)In late 1988, a conflict within GPD led Obryvchenko and Kirilin to leave. They formed "Troika, Semerka, Tuz" (37T) with Igor Komarovetsky (keyboards), Igor Krinichenko (saxophone, vocals), and Lyudmila Moiseeva (vocals).
Raznye Lyudi Reunited
Meanwhile, Chernetsky, Klimenko, and Mikhailenko returned to the name "Raznye Lyudi." They were joined by new drummer Aleksey Sechkin and guitarist, keyboardist, and vocalist Sergey Chigrakov ("Chizh").
Success and Challenges
RecognitionRaznye Lyudi continued to make waves, appearing alongside 37T at the "Aurora" magazine's rock festival in 1989. In 1992, they released their debut vinyl album, "1992."
Health Struggles
Progress was hindered by Chernetsky's ill health. However, the band showcased Chizh's material during this period. In the early 1990s, Chizh recorded a solo album and departed Raznye Lyudi, relocating to St. Petersburg and forming "Chizh i Kompaniya." Sechkin also left the group.
Perseverance
Despite these setbacks, Raznye Lyudi persevered. In 1994, they released the album "Nasrat!" and made infrequent appearances in major cities. In 1996, they recorded material for a new album in St. Petersburg, featuring the return of Sechkin on drums.
