Reese Hoffa (born October 8, 1977) is an American professional athlete who competes in the shot put. Hoffa was born in Evans, Georgia, and moved to Kentucky at the age of six. He was a versatile athlete in his youth, playing football, basketball, and baseball.
Athletic Career
Hoffa initially aspired to be a professional football player but shifted to track and field in high school after being advised to pursue a different sport. He quickly excelled in the shot put, his powerful physique and strength proving ideally suited for the event.
In 2007, Hoffa claimed the silver medal at the World Outdoor Championships. He also won the US Outdoor Championships that year. Hoffa went on to represent the United States at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
