Early Life and Education
Inna Oleksiivna Kharchenko was born on September 21, 1990, in the village of Oktyabrskoye (now Kuchuk-Borash), Perwomajskyi District, Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
She holds three degrees:
- 2013: Jurisprudence, Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University- 2022: Public Management and Administration, Lviv Polytechnic National University
- 2024: Journalism, Classical Private University
Legal and Entrepreneurial CareerKharchenko began her career in 2013 as a Legal Counsel for the Pension Fund of Ukraine. She later served as a State Inspector for the Specialized State Tax Inspectorate and in the legal department of "Zaporozhdistributedenergy."
From 2017 to 2021, she was an assistant counselor to a member of the Zaporizhia Regional Council and an assistant lawyer.
In 2021, Kharchenko became a private entrepreneur in the field of law and accounting, taxation, and auditing.
Political Activities
Kharchenko entered politics in 2020 as a member of the Zaporizhia City Council. She served on the standing commission for municipal property, resources, privatization, architecture, and land relations.
In 2021, she became a partner in the law firm "Yurconsult" specializing in tax consulting.
She also led the Servant of the People political party faction in the Zaporizhia City Council until April 22, 2024.
Mayorship and Controversy
On April 24, 2024, Kharchenko was appointed acting mayor of Zaporizhia and secretary of the Zaporizhia City Council. The appointment was made through a secret vote, with 37 of 38 council members supporting her.
Chairman of the Zaporizhia Regional State Administration, Ivan Fedorov, proposed Kharchenko for the position. Fedorov described the appointment as a "historical decision."
Former Secretary Anatoliy Kurtev accused Fedorov of exerting pressure on local government bodies to seize power unilaterally. He also alleged that Fedorov had falsely accused him of wrongdoing and appealed to the President of Ukraine to address the situation, labeling it a "political coup."
