Biography of Richard Biggs
Richard Biggs was an American stage and television actor, best known for his roles in the TV series 'Days of our Lives' and 'Babylon 5'.

Early Life and Education
Richard was born in Columbus, Ohio. He attended the University of Southern California on a scholarship, where he focused on theater arts. He also received additional training at a school in Los Angeles.

Soap Opera Career
Biggs landed his first major television role as Dr. Marcus Hunter in the soap opera 'Days of our Lives', which he played for five years from 1987 to 1992.

Babylon 5 and Other Projects
After 'Days of our Lives', Biggs was cast as Dr. Stephen Franklin in the sci-fi series 'Babylon 5', a role he portrayed for four years. He reprised the character in the spin-off series 'Crusade'.

Biggs also appeared in other TV shows such as 'Any Day Now' and 'Strong Medicine', as well as the soap opera 'Guiding Light'. He was also a frequent guest star on 'Tremors: The Series'.
Stage Work
In addition to his television roles, Biggs performed in a series of Shakespearean productions, including 'The Tempest', 'Cymbeline', and 'The Taming of the Shrew'.
Personal Life and Philanthropy
On August 1, 1998, Biggs married Lori Gerber. They had two children together, Erich and Hunter. Biggs had been partially deaf in one ear and completely deaf in the other since his teenage years. He used his celebrity status to raise funds for the Alice Cogswell Academy, a private school for deaf children in California.
Death and Legacy
Richard Biggs passed away suddenly on May 22, 2004, at his home in Los Angeles. He died from complications of aortic dissection. He was actively working on the TV series 'Strong Medicine' at the time of his death, and his character was later killed off in a car accident. He also participated in the development of new projects related to the 'Babylon 5' universe.
Biggs made his final on-screen appearance in the short film 'We Interrupt This Program', alongside his 'Babylon 5' co-star Bruce Boxleitner, which was released as part of the DVD 'Dawn of the Dead'.
