A Kidnapped Boy
It turns out that even the most terrifying stories, like child abduction, can have a happy ending. This was the case for Richard Landers, who was found 19 years after his abduction. However, whether or not the young man wanted to be found remains unclear. Regardless, his mother's happiness knows no bounds.
Biography of Richard Wayne Landers Jr.
Richard Wayne Landers Jr. was declared missing in 1994 at the age of 5. He lived with his parents in Indiana. He was kidnapped by his grandparents who disagreed with how his parents were raising him. According to the "kidnappers," his parents were young and unemployed at the time and living in a car. One summer day in 1994, Richard's grandfather simply drove off with him in an unknown direction. Despite extensive searches, the police were unable to find any clues. The grandparents were cleared of the charges in 2008 due to lack of evidence.
After 19 years, a social security card, which is issued to every American citizen and was also given to Richard at birth, suddenly appeared in Minnesota. A brief investigation led to Michael Jeff Landers, a 24-year-old man who had been living under a different name for several years, legally changing it at 18. Richard Landers declined interviews and meetings with the media, although some sources reported his statements that he considered his grandparents to be wonderful people and would not support any accusations against them. It is known that he is already married and the young couple is expecting their first child.
The mother, who lost her son almost 20 years ago, is overjoyed and counting down the minutes until their long-awaited reunion. She has already hired a lawyer who is ready to challenge her "unemployment" and "homelessness" at the time of her son's abduction. However, it is still unclear whether charges will be brought against the grandparents who abducted their own grandson.
