Biography of Richie Sambora

Richie Sambora is an American rock musician and guitarist. He was born in 1959 in New Jersey to a Polish-Italian family. Even as a child, Sambora showed leadership skills by being the president of his school team and excelling in basketball, baseball, and football. Despite having many talents, he was always passionate about music, specifically rock music. His idols were legendary rock musicians such as Eric Clapton, Johnny Winter, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page.

Sambora first picked up a guitar at the age of 12 and taught himself how to play. He never took any lessons and learned from watching live rock legends perform. It is said that he also learned to play the trombone, bass guitar, trumpet, accordion, and saxophone. However, it was his guitar skills that brought him fame.

Before joining the famous band Bon Jovi, Sambora played in several other groups such as "The Message" and "Mercy." When he first approached Jon Bon Jovi to join the band, he was initially ignored. Interestingly, Sambora was born in the same hospital as Bon Jovi and David Bryan, and they even had the same doctor.

Once Sambora joined Bon Jovi, he quickly established himself as an integral member of the band. Despite his natural modesty, he insisted on using special musical techniques that made some of the band's songs hits. In the late 1980s, Sambora and Bon Jovi founded the record company "New Jersey Underground Music," which unfortunately dissolved due to financial difficulties.

Sambora, like many rock musicians, struggled with drug issues in the late 1980s. However, he managed to overcome them. In recent years, he has been in the press due to alcohol-related problems.

In 1991, Sambora released his first solo project "Stranger in This Town." In late 1996, he founded his own record label called "Mutiny," where he released his compositions and collaborated with aspiring musicians. He also released a multimedia disc called "Richie Sambora Interactive Guitar," which included his songs, music videos, live performances, and guitar tutorial.

In addition to his music career, Sambora has worked for television. He was hired by Fox to write soundtracks for the series "Beverly Hills 90210" and "Party Of Five." He also composed a song for a Michelob beer advertisement.

In terms of his personal life, Sambora has had many relationships, which is not surprising considering his popularity. He was previously married to actress Heather Locklear, known for her roles in the series "Dynasty" and "Melrose Place," and they have a daughter together.

Throughout his career, Sambora has been an intriguing figure, not only for fans of Bon Jovi but also for the general public. It is widely known that he is colorblind and cannot distinguish between red, brown, and green. He has four tattoos, including a winged guitar with the inscription "Who Dares Wins" on his right arm, a cross entwined with a rose and the words "God & Faith" on his left arm. He also has a small blue star between his thumb and index finger on his right hand, and the inscription "Heather Deen" dedicated to his wife on his right shoulder. Sambora's hobbies include collecting guitars, of which he owns around 80. He is also the creator of the "SAM-1" guitar for the company Kramer. Sambora once famously said, "When I die, I want to be buried with a guitar."
