Ricky Gervais was born on June 25, 1961, in the United Kingdom. He grew up in Berkshire with his siblings Larry, Bob, and Marshe. Gervais' parents met during a solar eclipse shortly after the end of World War II, and he believes he was an unplanned but welcome child. Education
Gervais attended Ashmead Comprehensive School. In 1979, he enrolled at University College London, where he studied biology and philosophy. It was during this time that he met his future partner, Jane Fallon.
