Robert began his career in a pharmaceutical company in his home country. Over the course of 11 years, he expanded his responsibilities and achieved successful results, overseeing sales and marketing in the United Kingdom, Eastern Europe, and Saudi Arabia. Following this, Robert took the helm of the international pharmaceutical company's representation in Moscow. In 1996, with his extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in Eastern Europe, Robert Marshall was appointed as the head of the Pfizer representation in Russia, the world's largest research-based pharmaceutical company.

Introduction to Pfizer

Pfizer, an American corporation, was founded in 1849 in New York. Starting as a small plant producing fine chemicals, the company gained increasing importance in the pharmaceutical industry and has firmly established itself as the undisputed industry leader in the last decade. Fourteen Pfizer drugs are global leaders in their therapeutic groups, and the most important of them are available in Russia. Pfizer collaborates with the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Russian Federation and the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, placing great importance on clinical research conducted in more than 130 leading scientific centers and clinics in the country.

A Decade of Work at Pfizer

In the coming year, Robert will celebrate his ten-year anniversary at the company. Along with the introduction of new drugs, Pfizer's Russian representation has also experienced dynamic growth. Looking back at 1996, when the representation had fewer than 100 employees, Robert notes that he has witnessed many changes. Pfizer now operates in 50 cities across the country, from Kaliningrad to Khabarovsk, collaborating with doctors and pharmacists. Pfizer develops and produces highly effective drugs for the treatment of cardiovascular, oncological, urological, psychiatric, ophthalmic, and musculoskeletal diseases, as well as antifungal drugs, drugs for the treatment of hospital infections, growth hormone preparations, medications for the treatment of neuropathic pain, drugs for the treatment of cerebral circulation disorders, and more. The company also has a division for over-the-counter drugs and veterinary medicines. However, Pfizer is best known, particularly in Russia, for Viagra. The drug appeared in Russian pharmacies in 1998 and has since become one of the most in-demand drugs, with its name becoming a household term.

Viagra has received recognition among professionals. In addition to numerous awards received worldwide, Viagra added a victory in the competition held under the auspices of the Ministry of Health and Social Development of Russia - the "Platinum Ounce" - to its accomplishments in the spring of 2005.
