Robert Wright: Award-Winning Journalist and Theologian
Early Life and EducationRobert Wright was born in Lawton, Oklahoma, in 1957. As an "army brat," he moved frequently during his childhood, including a stint in San Francisco. He attended Texas Christian University for one year before transferring to Princeton University, where he earned a degree in public and international affairs. Wright's mentors at Princeton included author John McPhee, whose writing style significantly influenced Wright's own writing.
Journalism Career
After graduating, Wright worked as a senior editor at "The Sciences" and later "The New Republic." He also served as the editor of "The Wilson Quarterly." Wright wrote columns for "The New Republic," as well as contributing articles to "The Atlantic Monthly," "The New Yorker," and "The New York Times Magazine." Wright became a frequent contributor to "The New York Times," where he had a regular column from April 2007 onwards.
Science, Religion, and Evolution
Wright's writings focus on interdisciplinary topics, bridging the fields of science, religion, evolution, and international relations. His best-selling books include "The Evolution of God," "Nonzero: The Logic of Human Destiny," "The Moral Animal," and "Three Scientists and Their Gods." Wright argues that scientific and evolutionary principles can provide insights into human behavior, morality, and the nature of religion.

In November 2005, Wright co-founded "Bloggingheads.tv" with blogger Mickey Kaus. This online video journal featured interviews and discussions with notable guests from across the political spectrum. Current Activities
