Roberto Zanetti, also known as Savage and Robyx, is an Italian singer, composer, and songwriter. He rose to fame as a musician in the 1980s, particularly known for his contributions to the genre of Italo-disco.

Early Life and Musical Beginnings

Zanetti began his musical journey at the age of 14 when he started learning to play the piano. His first taste of success came as a member of the group Santarosa, with their hit song "Souvenir" selling over 200,000 copies in Italy in 1978.

The Formation of Taxi and Initial Success

In 1980, Zanetti co-founded the group Taxi with Adelmo Fornaciari. The group achieved great success when they won the song festival in Castrocaro in 1981 with their single "To Miami" reaching the top of the Italian charts. Zanetti's first experience as a producer was working on Taxi's song "Stargo".

The Savage Project

From 1983 onwards, Zanetti focused on his own project called Savage, taking inspiration from his favorite comic book character. Under the alias Savage, he released several Maxisingles and albums, establishing himself as a prominent figure in the Italo-disco scene.

Discography

Throughout his career, Zanetti has released numerous albums and compilations, including "Greatest Hits" in 1989 and "Don't Cry - Greatest Hits" in 1994. He continues to create music and released his latest album, "Tonight," in 2009.
