Academic and Professional Background
Zīle holds a doctorate in economics and has a distinguished academic background. He graduated from the Economics Faculty of the University of Latvia and pursued further studies at the University of Iowa in the United States and Brandon University in Canada. His research affiliations include the University of La Trobe in Australia.
Political Journey
Zīle played a pivotal role in the Latvian Popular Front, a movement that advocated for the restoration of Latvia's independence. He served as a member of the Riga City Council and was elected to the Latvian Parliament (Saeima) for multiple terms, representing the 6th, 7th, and 8th convocations.
Ministerial Experience
