Biography of Robin Manning
Robin 'Robynne' Manning was an American model and actress, born in 1976. She gained fame as a contestant on the first cycle of the reality TV show 'America's Next Top Model.' Manning, a 'plus-size' model, specialized in modeling for fuller-figured individuals. She was a devout Catholic from Memphis, Tennessee.
Before her appearance on the reality show, Manning held the titles of 'Miss Soybean' and 'Miss National Black College Alumni.' She earned a master's degree from Tennessee State University, where she was crowned 'Miss Tennessee State University,' being declared the most beautiful student.
As a devout Christian like Shannon Stewart, another contestant on 'America's Next Top Model,' Manning often criticized other participants when she felt they were engaging in immoral behavior. She was deeply upset when one of the 'Ebony Models' openly expressed her same-sex relationship by bringing her partner into the house.
In the seventh week of the reality show, the contestants were tasked with posing nude for a jewelry advertisement. Manning and Shannon Stewart refused to participate, stating that it went against their moral beliefs. As a result, Manning was eliminated from the show, becoming the seventh contestant to leave.
After her stint on 'America's Next Top Model,' Manning continued her modeling career. She worked on fashion shows for the stylish clothing brand 'Baby Phat,' alongside Elyse Sewell and Kesse Wallace. She also ventured into acting, appearing in the popular soap opera 'The Young and the Restless,' as well as the dramatic short film 'Without You' and the horror film 'Holla' in 2006, starring Shelli Boone.
As of 2010, Manning is still pursuing her acting career, although she has only two feature films in her portfolio. She has been involved in church activities related to printing and has done some test modeling shoots. Currently, she is not affiliated with any agency.
