Early Life and EducationRodion Alexandrov was born in an unknown year. During World War II (1941-1945), he worked as a turner and shift foreman in a Moscow factory. In 1949, he graduated from the Shchepkin Theater School and became an actor at the Pushkin Theater.
Theater Career
From 1950 to 1989, Alexandrov performed at the Moscow Satire Theater, where he became known for his commanding presence, aristocratic bearing, and resonant voice. His roles spanned a wide range, from the comical Kisa Vorobyaninov to an imposing Eastern sheikh.
Film Roles
Although predominantly a stage actor, Alexandrov had a small but memorable film career. He appeared as a diplomat or scientist in several films, and he notably played the role of Commissar Lunacharsky in six productions: "The Sixth of July," "The Kotsyubinsky Family," "Heart of Russia," "The Red Violin," and others.
Personal Life
For many years, Alexandrov was married to the actress Svetlana Kharitonova. They shared a passion for hunting, fishing, and traveling. However, in the mid-1980s, Alexandrov fell seriously ill and subsequently retired from the theater. He tragically ended his life in 1989 when the pain became unbearable.
