Club Career: Liverpool's Prolific GoalscorerRoger Hunt began his professional career at Liverpool in 1958. He quickly established himself as a prolific goalscorer, helping the club win the English First Division title twice, the FA Cup once, and the FA Charity Shield three times. He also played in the European Cup Winners' Cup final.
Hunt made his Liverpool debut on September 9, 1959, and scored his first goal on the same day. He went on to score 286 goals in 492 appearances for the club before leaving in 1969.
Bolton Wanderers and Retirement
In 1969, Hunt moved to Bolton Wanderers, where he spent the remainder of his playing career. He made 76 appearances for Bolton, scoring 24 goals. He retired from playing in 1972.
International Career: England's World Cup Triumph
Hunt made his England debut in 1962 and quickly became a key member of the team. He played in the 1962 World Cup and was part of England's victorious squad in the 1966 World Cup. He also helped England secure third place at the 1968 European Championship.
Recognition and Legacy
Hunt was awarded an MBE for his services to football. He is considered one of Liverpool's greatest-ever strikers and is a member of the club's Hall of Fame. He is also widely regarded as one of England's most successful and beloved players.
