Roman Nikolaevich Orekhovsky, known professionally as Roma Kenga, was born on May 15, 1980, in Yeysk, Russia. From an early age, he displayed a passion for music, enrolling in a local music school at five to study piano. Throughout his childhood, he actively participated in various city music competitions.

After graduating high school, Roman moved to Rostov-on-Don to study at the College of Pop and Jazz, where he also became the lead vocalist of a local jazz band. He later continued his education at the Russian Academy of Music named after Gnessin in Moscow, majoring in pop and jazz vocals.

Collaboration and Career Beginnings

While pursuing his studies, Roman collaborated as a musician, vocalist, and arranger with several musical ensembles and artists, including Royksopp, Vintaj, and Alexander Panayotov. In 2008, he signed a contract with Universal Music Russia and began filming a music video for his song "Let Me Be Your Guide."

Debut Album and Breakthrough Success

On November 17, 2008, Roma Kenga released his debut album, "Tam, Gde Lyubov" (Where Love Is). The album received critical acclaim, with MUZ.RU naming it the best pop album of 2008. In 2009, Roma's cover of ABBA's "Summer Night City" caught the attention of the Swedish band, who granted him the rights to perform the song.

His cover of "Summer Night City" became a radio hit, propelling him to international recognition. In 2009, he embarked on a tour to promote the release of his album "Summer Night City," which included performances in Russia, Italy, Sweden, and other countries.
