Early Life and Musical FoundationRoman Hrynkevych, a renowned bandurist and master of his craft, was born in the heart of Kyiv, Ukraine. His passion for music blossomed at a young age, culminating in his graduation from the prestigious Kyiv Conservatory in 1993, where he studied under the esteemed Professor S.V. Bashta.
Concert Career and Accolades
Throughout his remarkable career, Hrynkevych has captivated audiences around the world with his virtuosic bandura performances. His mastery of the instrument has earned him numerous accolades, including the Grand Prix at the Khotkevich Competition in 1993. He has graced the stages of prestigious festivals such as the Yehudi Menuhin Festival "All the World's Violins" and the Bloor West Ukrainian Street Festival in Toronto.
Teaching and Leadership
In addition to his concert career, Hrynkevych has generously shared his knowledge and skills as a professor at the Kyiv Conservatory between 1997 and 2007. His leadership extended beyond the classroom, where he founded and directed the renowned ensemble "Trio of Roman Hrynkevych."
Master Craftsmanship
Beyond his musical prowess, Hrynkevych has established himself as an exceptional craftsman in the art of bandura making. In the late 1990s, he embarked on a path of learning, studying under the guidance of master bandura maker V. Vecal in Toronto. This experience inspired him to open his own workshop in Kyiv in 2003, where he continued to create exquisite banduras for three years.
