Early Life and Education
Roman Plopper was born and raised in Russia. He graduated from the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts (GITIS) in 1995, where he studied under the tutelage of renowned acting coach Andrei Goncharov.
Theatre Career
During his time at GITIS, Plopper performed on stage at the Vladimir Mayakovsky Theatre, where he played the role of Boris in "The Storm." He also worked with the Shalom Theatre from 1994 to 1995, appearing in "Novellas of Sevella," "Yankel," and "Nationality? Yes!"
From 2000 to 2003, Plopper collaborated with the Theatre Project of Igor Potyapenko in Israel, where he showcased his talents in productions such as "Alice in Wonderland" and "Don Juan in Egypt."
Film Debut
Plopper made his film debut while still a student, playing a minor role in Valery Pichul's "Dreams of an Idiot" (1993).
Breakthrough in Israeli Cinema
Roman Plopper's breakthrough roles came not in Russian but in Israeli cinema. In 2001, he starred in Arik Cohen's "He and She," followed by his portrayal of the father in Igor Potyapenko's "Nijinsky: The Heavenly Clown" (2003).
Return to Russian Television
Plopper returned to the Russian television screens as an established actor, gaining recognition for his performance as a con man in the series "Airport-2: Words and Deeds" (2006). His other notable television roles include "Understand and Forgive" (2005) and "Artist" (2007).
