He later worked as a journalist for "Ukrayina Moloda" (1991-1992) and the "Gart" studio of Ukrainian Television (1992-1993). From 1993 to 1995, he was a journalist at the Center for Creative Television.
In 1995, Skrypin became a co-owner and journalist-producer at the private firm "Agency of Producers." He subsequently worked as a reporter, news editor, and news anchor at UTN's "Good Morning, Ukraine!" (1996-1998).
Rise to Prominence

Due to pervasive political censorship, Skrypin left STB in 2002. He became a journalist for "Public Radio" and testified before the Ukrainian Parliament about the state of freedom of speech in the country.
Role in Media Development
Skrypin co-authored the idea for "Channel 5," the "channel of honest news." He worked there from its inception on September 1, 2003, as the host of the news program "VREMYA" and as editor-in-chief. He resigned in June 2006, citing lack of development and changes in the decision-making process.
From August 14, 2006, to January 31, 2008, Skrypin served as media director at the news agency "RBC-Ukraine." He simultaneously hosted the Ukrainian service of Radio Liberty.
Media Leadership

He headed the channel's news service from April 2, 2009, as deputy editor-in-chief.

Controversies
On September 15, 2011, Skrypin resigned as chairman of the Independent Media Trade Union of Ukraine due to the organization's financial difficulties. The Trade Union's council accepted his resignation on September 21, 2011.
