Early Life and Military Career
Born in 1781, Pavel Fedorovich Zarudny entered military service in 1800 as a non-commissioned officer in the Mariupol Hussar Regiment. By 1806, he had fought against the Turks at the Battle of Khotyn, earning his promotion to Lieutenant.
Patriotic War of 1812
In the Отечественной войне, Zarudny distinguished himself at Смоленск (where he received the Order of Saint Anne, 4th class) and at Красное. His bravery continued throughout the war, earning him recognition for his role in various battles.
War of the Sixth Coalition
During the Заграничный похода of 1813-1814, Zarudny participated in the battles of Кацбах and Лейпциг. He was promoted to Staff Captain and played a pivotal role at the Battle of La Rothière, capturing an enemy cannon. This feat earned him the Order of Saint George, 4th class.
Continued Military Service
Zarudny's military career continued with distinction. He fought at Фер-Шампенуазом, earning the Order of Saint Vladimir, 4th class with a bow. Upon his return from the campaign, he retired with the rank of Captain.
