Ronald Koeman comes from a famous footballing family. His father, Martin Koeman, was a professional player for Amsterdam-based club "Blauw-Wit." Ronald and his older brother Erwin inherited their father's love for the game and started playing for local clubs at a young age.

Both brothers eventually joined Groningen, where their father worked as an assistant coach. However, their paths quickly diverged, with Erwin joining PSV Eindhoven while Ronald made his debut for Groningen's first team. He scored the winning goal in the 1992 UEFA Champions League final, securing Barcelona's first-ever European Cup triumph.

After retiring as a player, Koeman embarked on a successful coaching career. He started as an assistant coach for the Dutch national team before moving on to work with Louis van Gaal at Barcelona. Koeman then took charge of teams such as Vitesse and Ajax, leading them to domestic success.

In recent years, there have been rumors of Koeman potentially becoming the head coach of FC Barcelona, a club where he achieved legendary status as a player. His contract with the Dutch national team will expire in 2024, and he may consider new coaching opportunities in the future.
