However, an injury in a match against Anderlecht resulted in a broken nose, forcing him to wear a protective mask for several games. During the 2010/11 season, Vargas finished as one of the league's top scorers with 12 goals.

International Debut and Impact

Vargas made his international debut for Venezuela on February 3, 2008, in a friendly against Haiti. He scored his first international goal in a 2-0 victory against Brazil in June of the same year. Vargas' impressive performances and goalscoring ability have made him a key member of the Venezuelan national team.

After leaving Anderlecht, Vargas moved to Turkish club Balikesirspor. In 2022, he joined Greek club AEK Athens, where he continues to display his exceptional skills as a midfielder.
