Rosie: American Jazz Singer
Rosie is an American jazz singer who gained popularity with her soundtrack for the film "Bridget Jones's Diary" in 2001. She captivated music lovers with her beautiful voice and excellent jazz music. Rosie's real name is Nancy Joy Kaye and she was born in September 1972 into a family of talented musicians. Music runs in her blood. Her parents sang all their lives, and her grandparents were music teachers - her grandmother played the organ, and her grandfather was a pianist and worked as a radio DJ. Therefore, Rosie had a high level of musical upbringing. She loved music from childhood, especially adoring "The Beatles". Her life was always connected to music - as a student, she worked at the school radio, and after graduation, she found a job related to promotion. Rosie considers the moment she first picked up a guitar as her awakening. She moved to San Francisco, formed a band, and they began their journey to fame. Rosie performed in restaurants and bars, but her luck turned around only after she moved to New York. Here, she played in the same places until her recordings caught the attention of "Island Def Jam", who helped Rosie record her debut album, "Dirty Child". Around the same time, the film "Bridget Jones's Diary" was released, starring Renée Zellweger. Rosie's song "Love" became its soundtrack. Later, Rosie's songs became soundtracks for two more films - the song "Afterlife" was featured in the movie "Shallow Hal" starring Gwyneth Paltrow, and the single "I Remember" was included in the television show "Men In Trees". After "Bridget Jones's Diary," Rosie gained serious attention. The commercial success of the films brought her a certain level of fame, and the release of her debut album only fueled this interest and can be considered successful. In the summer of 2002, following the release of "Dirty Child," she embarked on a tour with Meredith Brooks and Melissa Etheridge in support of the album. However, having been raised in the best traditions of classical music, Rosie decided to experiment, and in her next album, she sings jazz. The album, titled "The Luckiest Girl," was released in 2008. Her excellent vocals with a husky tone and serious jazz music made her a truly fortunate performer - the album was well-received not only by jazz fans but also by music critics. It is music in the style of "old-fashioned cabaret jazz," quite intimate and aesthetic. Currently, Rosie is working on a new album.
