Biography of Roxann Dawson

Roxann Dawson was born on September 11, 1958, in Los Angeles. She began her acting career in the 1980s, after graduating from the University of California, Berkeley. Dawson started performing in Broadway musicals and continued her acting career throughout the 1980s and 1990s, even taking on minor roles on television.

Role in "Star Trek: Voyager"

In 1994, Dawson landed the role of engineer and part-human, part-Klingon B'Elanna Torres in the television series "Star Trek: Voyager," which ran for seven seasons. Her work in the series earned her three nominations for the American Latino Media Arts Award, also known as the ALMA Award, from 1998 to 2000. In 2001, she won the ALMA Award for her performance in the show.

Other Roles

Aside from "Star Trek: Voyager," Dawson has appeared in various television series, including "Melrose Place," "Baywatch," "Matlock," "The Untouchables," "Any Day Now," "Without a Trace," "The Lyon's Den," "The Division," the American version of "Coupling," and the science fiction television series "Seven Days." She has also lent her voice to several episodes of "Star Trek: Enterprise."
