Roy Krishna is a legendary Fijian footballer who made a significant impact on the international football scene.

Early Career and New Zealand Triumphs

Born in Labasa, Fiji, Krishna began his career with the local club Labasa. In January 2008, he made the move to New Zealand, signing for Waitakere United. During a two-week trial with Wellington Phoenix in May 2008, Krishna impressed the Australian A-League club.

Krishna emerged as a prolific goalscorer in the New Zealand Championship, winning the Golden Boot award with 19 goals in the 2012/13 season.

A Rejected Transfer to Europe

In March 2009, Krishna faced a potential transfer to Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven. However, Wellington Phoenix management deemed him not ready for European football. Krishna himself declined the move due to his reluctance to learn Dutch, preferring to await offers from English-speaking countries.

Club World Cup Appearance

Krishna played for Waitakere United in the 2008 FIFA Club World Cup. On December 11th, he made his only appearance in the tournament, as his team fell to Adelaide United from Australia.
