Early Life and Club CareerRúnar Alex Rúnarsson was born into a footballing family in Reykjavík, Iceland. His father, Rúnar Kristinsson, is a former professional footballer and current coach. Rúnarsson began his career at the local club Reykjavík.
In 2013, he made his professional debut for Reykjavík in an Icelandic Premier League match. He helped the club win the championship in his debut season.
Norrköping and Danish Superliga
In early 2014, Rúnarsson was transferred to Danish club Norrköping. He made his Danish Superliga debut in 2015, establishing himself as a regular starter.
International Career
Rúnarsson represented Iceland at the youth level, participating in the 2012 UEFA European Under-19 Championship.
In 2017, he made his senior international debut for Iceland in a friendly match against the Czech Republic.
Current Status
Rúnarsson currently plays for Norrköping and the Icelandic national team. He is considered one of the most promising young goalkeepers in Europe.
