Rustam Duloev: A Biography

Rustam Duloev is an opera singer and tenor who has established his career in Italy, performing in leading roles in numerous theaters and concert halls. He has also participated in various summer festivals and appeared on several television shows, including "Domenica In" on RAI 1, the largest Italian television channel, on the occasion of Mr. Gorbachev's visit.

Education and Early Career

Duloev studied at the Moscow State Conservatory named after P.I. Tchaikovsky and the Ashrafi State Conservatory of Uzbekistan. He made his professional debut at the Aini National Opera and Ballet Theatre in the Republic of Tajikistan and participated in numerous tours, performing in various opera houses of the former Soviet Union. These included the Helikon and the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Academic Music Theatre in Moscow, the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, and opera houses in Tbilisi, Baku, Tashkent, and Almaty.

Under the guidance of conductors Weiss and Gelavani, Duloev performed at the Bolshoi Theatre in the roles of the Duke in "Rigoletto" and Jose in "Carmen." He then continued his education in Italy, earning a diploma from the Opera Academy in Ozimo, where he studied under the artistic direction of Raina Kabaivanska, a renowned soprano. He further trained in Milan at the La Scala Academy with distinguished teachers such as Leyla Gencer, Tonini, D'Amico, and Terranova, as well as Maestro Jose Carreras. In New York, he interned with the renowned tenor Franco Iglesias, a student of Placido Domingo.

Current Career and Achievements

Currently, Duloev performs regularly on stage and in concerts while also dedicating himself to teaching. He has lectured on bel canto technique at the University of Alberta in Canada and conducts masterclasses in Italy, Canada, and other countries. Duloev has toured abroad in Austria, Denmark, Germany, Norway, Bulgaria, France, the United Kingdom, Cyprus, the United States, and Canada, performing roles such as Radames in "Aida," Cavaradossi in "Tosca," Renato Des Grieux in "Manon Lescaut," the Duke in "Rigoletto," and Alfredo in "La Traviata." He has also performed leading vocal parts in the tragedy "Persians" with the London Theatrical Company Tiasos.

Duloev has sung at official government concerts for world leaders such as Putin and Khatami, as well as in UNESCO-supported tours in various theaters, including gala concerts at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, the Opera Garnier in Paris, and the UNESCO headquarters. He has represented Tajikistan in official delegations at the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai and Tajik Cultural Days in Turkmenistan. Additionally, Duloev has received numerous awards and holds the title of "People's Artist of the Republic of Tajikistan."

Duloev's musical achievements also extend to recordings, including the album "Arias from Italian Operas" with Italian conductor Maestro Tonini. He has also contributed two tracks titled "Falak: Voice of Destiny" for the British Library Archives (Release: June 2006).
