Ryan Matthew Dunn: Biography
Early Life and CareerRyan Matthew Dunn was born on June 11, 1977, in Medina, Ohio. He grew up in Williamsville, New York before moving to West Chester, Pennsylvania with his parents during his teenage years. Dunn first gained public attention through his participation in four video films created by his friends from the "CKY Crew". He became known for his involvement in the TV series "Jackass" on MTV and the spin-off show "Viva La Bam". Additionally, he hosted shows such as "Homewrecker" and "Proving Ground".
Rise to Fame
As a member of the "CKY Crew", mainly composed of friends and acquaintances of Bam Margera, Ryan played a leading role in the movie "Haggard: The Movie" (2003), which was based on real events from his life and his unsuccessful relationships with women. Dunn participated in numerous stunts that made the "Jackass" franchise famous.
Tragic Accident and Death
On June 20, 2011, around 3:30 am, Ryan Dunn and Zachary Hartwell, his friend and a member of the crew filming "Jackass 2", died in a car accident. Dunn was driving his Porsche 911 GT3 when it veered off the road, crashed into a tree, and caught fire in the vicinity of West Goshen Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania. A few hours before the accident, Dunn posted a photo on his Twitter page showing him and Hartwell drinking at a bar. Toxicology reports revealed that Dunn's blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit. The police also stated that excessive speed, with the car traveling between 212 and 230 km/h on a road where the maximum speed limit was 89 km/h, was a possible contributing factor to the accident.
Mourning and Farewell
After Dunn's death, Bam Margera visited the accident site for the first time and broke down in tears. The following day, Ryan's colleagues from "Jackass," including Johnny Knoxville, Phil Margera, April Margera, Jeff Tremaine, and Bam Margera, along with his wife Missy Margera, attended a private memorial service in West Chester, Pennsylvania.
