Samuel Marshall Raimi was born on October 23, 1959, in Royal Oak, Michigan, USA. He is an American film director, producer, and screenwriter.

Early Life
From childhood, Sam developed a passion for cameras. This passion eventually led him to the University of Michigan, where he and his brother Ivan founded the Society of Cinematographers.

Career
After graduating from university, Raimi teamed up with his close friend and future producer of most of his films, Robert Tapert, and actor Bruce Campbell, who would star in most of Sam's films. Together, they founded the film company "Renaissance Pictures."

Raimi began his career working on the film "The Evil Dead" in 1979. The success of the first film led to the release of two more parts of the horror series. His first film about "Evil Dead" received significant recognition from both audiences and critics at the Cannes Film Festival. This trilogy was followed by a series of films about Spider-Man, which brought Raimi the greatest fame.

Sam's brother Ivan has been directly involved in writing scripts for many of his films, such as "Darkman" and "Evil Dead 3: Army of Darkness." Ivan also contributed a significant portion of the screenplay for the third Superman film.
Both Ivan and Bruce Campbell have been working with Raimi on films and television projects since their college days. They have appeared in "Evil Dead," the Superman trilogy, as well as the television series "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys" and "Xena: Warrior Princess."
