Samih Sawiris is an Egyptian billionaire and entrepreneur from the prominent Sawiris family. His family's business empire, Orascom, began in 1950 with the establishment of a cement plant in northern Egypt. Orascom's International Expansion

Under Sawiris' leadership, Orascom expanded its operations beyond Egypt, investing in major cement plants in Algeria, Nigeria, Spain, and Turkey in the 1990s.
