Sanjar Dzhandosov: A Prominent Kazakh and Soviet Statesman
Early Life and EducationSanjar Dzhandosov was born on January 29, 1930, in the family of Uraza Dzhandosov, who was later repressed in 1937. After completing his education at the Kokand Oil College in 1947, Dzhandosov pursued a degree in Economics from KazNU in 1963. He then attended the Academy of Social Sciences in Moscow and earned a PhD in Economics.
Engineering Career
Dzhandosov began his career as an engineer and head of the electrical department at a power plant in the oil industry of the Guryev Oblast. In 1957, he joined the State Planning Committee of the Kazakh SSR as an engineer in the Department of Electrification and Automation.
Political Involvement
Dzhandosov's involvement in politics started in 1968 when he became the secretary of the Alma-Ata City Party Committee. From 1971 to 1975, he served as the director of the Research Institute of Economics and Planning under the State Planning Committee of the Kazakh SSR.
Higher Education and Vocational Training
Subsequently, Dzhandosov held the position of Head of the Science and Education Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan from 1975 to 1979. He then became Chairman of the State Committee for Vocational and Technical Education from 1979 to 1983.
Chimkent Oblast and State Committee on Labor
Dzhandosov's political career continued with his appointment as Chairman of the Chimkent Oblast Executive Committee from 1983 to 1986. He then served as Chairman of the State Committee on Labor from 1986 to 1989.
Social and Economic Contribution
Dzhandosov was an active social and economic contributor, authoring several books on economics, including "Optimization of Industry and Regional Complex in Kazakhstan." He was elected Chairman of the Board of the newly established KDIPO "Adilet" in April 1989.
Leadership in Agriculture and Business
In 1990, Dzhandosov played a key role in the establishment of the Association of Peasant Farms and Agricultural Cooperatives in Kazakhstan, becoming its leader. He later became President of the Congress of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan.
Family and Legacy
Dzhandosov had five children: four daughters and a son. His daughter Zhanar Dzhandosova founded the "Sanj" Research Center, named in honor of her father. He also had a nephew, Uraz Aliyevich Dzhandosov.
Tragic Passing
Sanjar Dzhandosov died in a car accident in 1992. He is remembered as a dedicated and influential leader who made significant contributions to the political, economic, and social development of Kazakhstan.
