Santiago García: Argentine Footballer

Early Career and Debut at Rosario Central

Santiago García, an Argentine footballer specializing as a left-back, began his professional career with Rosario Central, the club in his hometown. He made his debut for the club's first team on October 19th, 2008, in a 0-1 defeat against Gimnasia y Esgrima.

Move to Palermo and Serie A Adventure

In the following years, García's performances attracted interest from European clubs. On July 16th, 2010, he joined Italian Serie A side Palermo, signing a five-year contract with an annual salary of €450,000. The transfer fee was reported to be either €1.6 million or €900,000.

Despite initially expressing his desire to break into the starting lineup, García struggled to earn regular minutes in Palermo, making his Serie A debut in a Europa League match against Lausanne.

Loan Spells and Goal for Novara

In July 2011, García was loaned to Novara in Serie A, where he made 21 appearances. He notably scored a goal in his final game for the club, against AC Milan. However, Novara was relegated to Serie B at the end of the season.

Return to Palermo and Loan to Werder Bremen

After his loan spell, García returned to Palermo but was transferred to Chilean club Rangers in the summer of 2013. He was immediately loaned out to Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga for a year. In April 2014, Werder Bremen exercised their purchase option and signed García on a three-year contract.
