Sara Paxton, an American actress and singer, was born on April 25, 1988, in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA. She grew up in a "very mixed family", with her father Steve being of Irish, Scottish, and English descent, and her mother Lucia being born in Monterrey, Mexico and raised in Ciudad Acuña. Both of Paxton's parents are dentists.

Paxton's career in the entertainment industry began at a young age, starting with small acting roles in theater and television. Her first film role was a cameo in the comedy "Liar Liar" in 1997, starring Jim Carrey. In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Paxton earned several minor roles, including a recurring role in the sitcom "Greetings from Tucson" and the comedy series "Action," as well as appearances in the soap opera "Passions" and the series "Lizzie McGuire" alongside Hilary Duff.
