Biography of Sarah Bettens

Early Life and Career

Sarah Bettens, born in 1972 in Kapellen, Belgium, is a Belgian singer and musician. She began her career as the lead vocalist of the band 'K's Choice', where she performed alongside her brother Gert Bettens. Together, they were the frontmen of the band, which can be defined as guitar rock or folk-rock.

Solo Projects

After the decline of 'K's Choice', Sarah ventured into solo projects. In 2003, she released her first EP album titled 'Go', followed by her debut full-length album 'Scream' in 2004. The album gained success with the singles 'Not Insane' and 'Stay'. Her next album, 'Shine', was released in 2007, produced by Brad Wood. In 2008, she released the album 'Never Say Goodbye', which featured old compositions from 'K's Choice' performances as well as original songs written by Sarah. The album was only sold at concerts and online stores.

Collaboration with 'K's Choice'

Although 'K's Choice' disbanded due to creative stagnation, Sarah and her brother Gert always hoped that the group's breakup was not permanent but only "until the next inspiration." In 2009, it was announced that Sarah and Gert were working on new material together again. Their album 'Echo Mountain' was released in 2010, recorded at a studio in Asheville, North Carolina. This album became the fifth studio project for the group.

Sarah Bettens is openly lesbian and resides in Tennessee, USA, with her partner named Stephani and their two adopted children. They have been together for approximately nine years, and Sarah dedicated her song 'Just the Two of Us' to Stephani.
