Biography of Sarah Carter

Sarah Carter, a Canadian actress, was born on October 30, 1980, in Toronto and grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She was passionate about dancing and participated in various school plays, including 'The Wizard of Oz' where she played the role of Dorothy. Sarah was also a member of the school debate team, which gave her the opportunity to travel around the world. After exploring Europe, Carter attended the Ryerson Theatre School, where her talent was proven when she performed monologues.

Early Career

Sarah quickly landed her first episodic role in the series 'Wolf Lake' and made an appearance in 'Dark Angel'. She also appeared in the series 'Undeclared' early in her career. Not wanting to limit herself to just the small screen, Sarah made her breakthrough in the big screen with the Canadian psychological thriller 'Mindstorm' alongside Eric Roberts, Michael Ironside, and Antonio Sabato Jr. She portrayed the kidnapped daughter of Senator Ryanne Hermitage, whose search uncovered her dark secrets. Sarah can be seen in the sequel to the popular film 'Final Destination', where she plays the character of Shaina, who unfortunately gets killed early on in the movie.

Television Success

Sarah landed her first lead role on television in the series 'Black Sash', where she portrayed Ellie Bennett. To enrich her character, she incorporated her dance abilities in one of the episodes and even learned martial arts techniques, which later helped her in the adventure action film 'DOA: Dead or Alive'. Unfortunately, the series 'Black Sash' was canceled after only eight episodes, with the show being pulled off the air after six episodes. Sarah's breakthrough role came from her portrayal of Alicia Baker in the popular series 'Smallville'. Her character had the ability to teleport herself, as well as objects and other people. She was romantically involved with Clark Kent, played by actor Tom Welling.

Film and Television Projects

Sarah also had guest roles in the HBO series 'Entourage' and appeared in the horror film 'Skinwalkers' in 2006. In the drama 'Killing Zelda Sparks' in 2007, she played one of the three main roles, Zelda Sparks, alongside Colm Feore and Vincent Kartheiser. She also joined the cast of the series 'Shark', playing the role of Madeline Poe, who learns from charismatic and self-assured Sebastian Stark (played by James Woods) while falling in love with rookie prosecutor Casey Woodland. However, their romance was only shown in the first season, and they separated in the second season.

In 2009, Sarah became a regular cast member in the CBS series 'CSI: NY'. She portrayed Haylen Becall, a law school graduate who studied to join the exceptional team of detectives. Sarah also appeared in newer series such as 'Howie Do It' and 'The Cleaner', as well as the television drama 'Confessions of an Exotic Dancer' and the film 'Tripping Tommy' in 2009, where she played the character of Maggie Turner.
