Linda Carroll Hamilton is an American actress known for her talent and numerous awards, including an Emmy, a Golden Globe, and a Saturn Award. She is best known for her role as Sarah Connor in the globally popular "Terminator" films (parts 1 and 2) and as Catherine Chandler in the film "Beauty and the Beast".
Early Life and Education
Linda Carroll Hamilton was born on September 26, 1956, in Salisbury, Maryland, to a family of doctors. Unfortunately, when Linda was five years old, her father died in a car accident, and she was raised by her mother. Linda grew up with her twin sister, older sister, and younger brother. She later described her upbringing as "very boring, Anglo-Saxon family" with little of interest. It was because of this that she tried to make the most of her free time and spent it avidly reading books.
Linda attended Wicomico Junior High School (now Wicomico Middle School) and then received her education at Wicomico High School in Salisbury, Maryland, alongside her twin sister. After two years, Linda went on to study at Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland, before eventually moving to New York. In New York, she began attending specialized acting courses.
Career
Linda Hamilton made her television debut playing the lead role in the soap opera "Secrets of Midland Heights" in 1980. A few years later, she made her big-screen debut in the horror film "Children of the Corn," which garnered critical acclaim for her talent and potential as an actress.
In 1984, Linda reached the peak of her fame when she starred in the hugely popular film "The Terminator," which achieved tremendous success. She then appeared in the film "Black Moon Rising".
Afterward, Linda returned to television and appeared in the comedy "Murder, She Wrote," receiving rave reviews from the audience. She then achieved further success with her role in the film "Beauty and the Beast," which earned her the Emmy and Golden Globe awards.
