Biography of Sarah Haskins

Sarah Haskins was born on March 13, 1981, in San Luis, USA. She is one of the top American athletes competing in triathlon. Coming from a sports-oriented family, Sarah was exposed to various sports from a young age. Her brother Ben is a professional golfer, while her other brother Michael and sister Megan are professional swimmers. Her father Brian played rugby, football, and golf, and her mother Becky was also a golfer and gymnast.

At the age of 5, Sarah began swimming and developed a love for the water. She spent most of her free time in the pool and joined the "Parkway Swim" sports club at the age of 9. Through dedicated training, Sarah quickly became one of the best swimmers in her club and city, and she started competing in national junior championships at a young age.

During high school, Sarah also took up cross-country running, which she combined with swimming. She excelled in both sports, becoming a dominant force in long-distance running as well. Throughout her education, Sarah developed essential qualities for an athlete, including endurance, determination, and leadership.

After finishing high school, Sarah enrolled at the University of Tulsa, where she studied elementary education and mathematics. She continued to pursue swimming and running, and also added cycling to her repertoire. Sarah set her sights on becoming the best triathlete in the United States, and she approached the new sport category with meticulousness.

After graduating from university, Sarah worked as a teacher in an elementary school for a year. She also coached swimming and track and field teams. However, when she received an offer to join the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Sarah decided to leave her job and dedicate herself fully to training. Without this tempting opportunity, Sarah would have remained a school teacher and would not have achieved such enormous success.

In 2006 and 2007, Sarah Haskins placed second in the national triathlon championship. During these years, she was already hopeful for a spot on the team that would represent the United States in the Beijing Olympics.

In 2008, Sarah Haskins represented the United States in the triathlon category at the Olympics in China. She had the opportunity to showcase her skills on the international stage and compete against the world's best triathletes.
