Sarah Hyland is an American actress, best known for her role as Haley Dunphy in the ABC comedy series "Modern Family." Despite her young age, she has already had a successful career in both film and television, with a total of 33 roles to her name.

Early Life
Sarah was born on November 24, 1990 in Manhattan, New York, to Melissa Canaday and Edward James Hyland, both of whom are actors. Her father continues to pursue his theater career, while her mother has become an acting coach. Sarah has a younger brother named Ian Hyland. She has a diverse heritage, with Irish, Scottish, Welsh, and Dutch blood running through her veins.

Early Career
Sarah began her acting career at the age of four, appearing in commercials and providing voice-over work. At the age of five, she landed her first role as Howard Stern's daughter in the film "Private Parts" (1997). She went on to play Molly in the romantic comedy "The Object of My Affection" (1998) alongside Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd. Sarah also appeared in the television series "Another World" as Rain Wolfe, a girl who is found in a park and adopted by a foster family named Josie and Gary. She worked with Amy Carlson, who played Josie, in several other projects including the crime series "Falcone," the drama series "Law & Order," and "Law & Order: Trial by Jury."
Rise to Fame
Sarah was selected to portray one of the young Audrey Hepburns in "The Audrey Hepburn Story" (2000) alongside Jennifer Love Hewitt.
