Biography of Sasha Kagan
Sasha Kagan, a renowned designer, author, and creator of exquisite knitted collections, was born on July 21, 1945, in England. She was the only child in a family of a Russian refugee and an Englishwoman. Her father worked as a translator, while her mother was a seamstress. Sasha learned a little bit from both of them. From her father, she developed a love for languages, and from her mother, she acquired skills and abilities in knitting.

Sasha attended a small village school and later found herself at the Royal College of Art in London. Her first job involved creating theatrical costumes for one of the theater studios. This line of work became an excellent practice for Sasha, as it allowed her to learn how to create any outfit.

In 1972, Sasha moved to Wales, where she lectured, knitted, and sold her creations near fashionable stores in London. By a twist of fate, her knitted items became so popular that they soon became the most sought-after in prestigious stores. Currently, Sasha owns a production line, which gives her enough time for knitting, teaching, and writing books.
Today, Sasha's knitted pieces can be found at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, as well as various exhibitions held both in the country and abroad. Her passion still lies in the rural countryside of Wales, where she finds inspiration for all her endeavors, including lectures, knitting, and creative work.
In her knitting lectures, Sasha focuses less on technique (although she can describe various knitting methods in detail if necessary) and pays more attention to American knitting techniques. She frequently visits the United States, where she recharges her batteries, gathers new impressions, and finds enthusiasm for her future endeavors.
