Academic Career

Savo Klimovski, a Macedonian jurist, was born in 1950. He obtained his law degree from the University of Skopje in 1974, followed by his doctorate in Ljubljana in 1978.

University Administration

Klimovski's academic career commenced as an assistant in 1971, progressing to associate professor and later full professor. From 1992 to 2000, he served as Dean of the University of Skopje's Law Faculty. He also chaired the University Council from 1996 to 1998.

Authorship

Klimovski has authored numerous scholarly works, including monographs, textbooks, and scientific publications. His contributions to the field of law are widely recognized.

Political Career

Klimovski entered politics in 1986, serving as Secretary (Minister) of Education, Culture, and Physical Culture in the government of the Socialist Republic of Macedonia. From 1992 to 2000, he was a member of the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia, chairing committees on constitutional affairs, European integration, and international relations.

In 1998, Klimovski became Speaker of the Parliament, a position he held until 2000. Upon the expiration of President Kiro Gligorov's term in 1999, Klimovski served as Acting President until the inauguration of Boris Trajkovski in December.
