Early Life and Career

Scarlett Byrne was born on October 6, 1990, in Chiswick, England. She made her screen debut in 2005 in the short film "CryBaby," where she played a schoolgirl. In 2008, Byrne landed the role of Chloe Daniels in the popular British television series "Doctor Who" on BBC One.

It was not until she auditioned for the role of Pansy Parkinson in "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" that Byrne gained recognition. In the film series, Byrne portrayed the pure-blood witch and Draco Malfoy's companion. Her previous roles in the Harry Potter films were Genevieve Goyle in "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" and Lauren Shotton in "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix."

Pansy Parkinson's Background

Pansy Parkinson hails from a prominent aristocratic family. Her parents, Terence and Eloise Parkinson, are among the most devoted Death Eaters. From a young age, Pansy absorbed all the aristocratic manners and, being the only child, she used her importance to her advantage. The entire Parkinson family attended the Slytherin house, and Pansy naturally embraced her destiny to be sorted into the same house.

Pansy's academic performance is average, without standing out in any particular subject, except for her interest in potion-making, where she achieved some success. She is an unacknowledged leader among the Slytherin girls. Pansy is infatuated with Draco Malfoy and impresses him with her unwavering loyalty to Lord Voldemort.

During her fifth year, she becomes the Slytherin prefect and, like Draco Malfoy, joins Dolores Umbridge's Inquisitorial Squad. Pansy constantly taunts Harry and all the Gryffindors. During the Battle of Hogwarts, when Voldemort demands the surrender of Harry Potter, she is the first to suggest that Minerva McGonagall comply, for which she is immediately evacuated.

Controversy and Physical Description

Many critics argue that Scarlett Byrne is too beautiful to accurately portray Pansy Parkinson, who is described as having a bulldog-like face and, according to Hermione Granger's words, "a troll who got hit in the head with a club." While Pansy is not conventionally attractive, she enhances her appearance with expensive cosmetics. She takes pride in her pale skin, which she believes emphasizes her aristocratic heritage. Her icy eyes, cold and disdainful gaze, and contemptuous smirk from unnaturally thin lips define Pansy as a sarcastic, selfish, ambitious, stubborn, and capricious young woman.
