Biography of Scott Adkins
Scott Edward Adkins was born on June 17, 1976, in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, West Midlands, England, UK. He comes from a family of butchers, but Scott chose a different path early on in his life when he developed a passion for martial arts.

During his time at Bishop Vesey's Grammar School in Sutton Coldfield, 10-year-old Scott and his older brother Craig were introduced to judo by their father. Scott instantly fell in love with the martial art and spent years honing his skills. At the age of 14, he began training in taekwondo under the guidance of Ron Sergi, idolizing martial arts legends Bruce Lee and Jean-Claude Van Damme.

At 16, Scott started practicing kickboxing under Anthony Jones and developed an interest in acting around the same time. He joined drama classes at Sutton Coldfield College, although acting proved to be more challenging for him compared to martial arts. Overcoming his shyness, he eventually earned a place at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art at the age of 21. However, financial constraints forced him to leave before completing his studies.

Undeterred by the lack of formal acting education, Scott pursued opportunities in film and television. In 1998, he landed a small role in the TV series "Dangerfield." This led to appearances in "In Deep" (1999), "Doctors" (2000), and his first international project, the Hong Kong film "The Accidental Spy" (2001) alongside Jackie Chan. Working with top filmmakers and stunt performers in Hong Kong provided invaluable experience for Scott.

In 2001, he appeared in the British short film "Pure Vengeance" and the Hong Kong action film "Extreme Challenge." Scott then continued to secure minor roles in various films and TV shows, including "Big Breakfast" (2001), "Mutant X" (2002), "Black Mask 2: City of Masks" (2002), and "Hollyoaks" (2004-2006).

His breakthrough came in 2006 when he starred as Yuri Boyka, a Russian fighter, in the film "Undisputed II: Last Man Standing." This role marked his first major acting success and propelled his career in Hollywood. Although initially typecast as a muscle-bound fighter, Scott gained popularity among audiences and filmmakers alike.
From 2006 to 2016, he appeared in numerous films and TV shows, including "The Bourne Ultimatum" (2007), "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" (2009), "Ninja" (2009), and "Doctor Strange" (2016). Scott is known for his expertise in various martial arts, including kickboxing, taekwondo, karate, muay Thai, wushu, jiu-jitsu, and judo.
Outside of his acting career, Scott is a devoted husband to his wife, Lisa Adkins, and a loving father to their daughter, Carmel. In his film "Accident Man" (2018), he not only starred in the lead role but also made his debut as a screenwriter.
Scott Adkins continues to be a sought-after actor, particularly in action films, showcasing his remarkable martial arts skills and captivating audiences worldwide.
