USABiography of Shawn Kemp
Shawn Kemp, a basketball player, was born on November 26, 1969, in Elkhart, Indiana. His impressive physical attributes, coupled with his drive to always be the best, left an indelible impression on the scouts of the Seattle SuperSonics. As a result, Kemp, at the age of nineteen and without any college basketball experience, was invited to join the team. He began playing for the SuperSonics in the 1989-1990 season and immediately showcased his potential as a leader, ready to take charge during the most challenging moments of the game and lead his teammates. Continuously improving his own performance, in the 1995-1996 season, Shawn Kemp, as part of the Seattle SuperSonics, earned the right to participate in the NBA Finals. The Chicago Bulls, with a resurgent Michael Jordan, had to exert considerable effort to defeat the team from Seattle in a six-game series. Kemp played a significant role in opposing the Bulls, scoring 25 points in the fourth game of the series. Great expectations were placed on Shawn in Cleveland, where he moved to in 1997. Thanks in large part to his efforts, the Cavaliers finished the 1997-1998 regular season with a positive record, winning 47 out of 82 games, and advanced to the final stage of the tournament. Just as it was with the SuperSonics, Shawn Kemp plays a leading role in the Cleveland team, averaging 17.5 points and making 10 rebounds per game.
