Biography of Sean Lennon

Sean Lennon, a musician and the son of John Lennon, was born on October 9, 1975, in the city that never sleeps, New York City, USA. He was the son of John Lennon and Yoko Ono. Until 1980, Sean was raised by his father, who deeply loved his little boy. However, that year became fateful as his father was tragically killed.

Sean received his education at one of the most exclusive boarding schools in Switzerland, Institut Le Rosey, known for its notable alumni such as Prince Edward, King Albert II of Belgium, and many others. Prior to that, he attended the Ethical Culture Fieldston School and the prestigious Dalton Schools in New York. Later, he enrolled at Columbia University but dropped out after three semesters to pursue his musical career.

In 1981, Sean showcased his vocal abilities for the first time on his mother Yoko Ono's album "Season of Glass". A few years later, in 1984, at the age of nine, he performed the popular song "It's Alright" on Yoko Ono's album "Every Man Has A Woman". In 1988, Sean made an appearance on the screen, starring alongside Michael Jackson in "Moonwalker". This early experience greatly influenced his musical journey.

Taking more significant steps, in 1991, Sean collaborated with American rock singer, composer, and actor Lenny Kravitz on his album "Mama Said". In 1997, Lennon joined a new Japanese duo based in New York called "Cibo Matto". His music caught the attention of Adam Yauch from the "Beastie Boys" due to his collaboration with Miho Hatori and Yuka Honda.

In 1998, Sean released his debut solo album "Into the Sun", recorded at the "Beastie Boys" recording studio with his girlfriend Yuka Honda. Collaborating with the label "Grand Royal Records", Sean Lennon was thrilled that he was appreciated primarily for his own talent rather than being the son of famous parents. In 1999, he wrote new tracks such as "Heart & Lung" and "Happiness" and remixes for "Into the Sun". In 2000, after the release of "Cibo Matto's" album "Stereo Type A", Sean left the band and recorded a duet called "Sunshine" with musician Josh Hayden.

In 2001, he collaborated with Moby and Rafa Sardina, showcasing his abilities as both a musician and a producer. In February 2006, Sean released the album "Dead Meat" and participated in the film "Friendly Fire". In 2007, his album "L'éclipse" was born. Finally, in 2008, the actor and musician Sean Lennon appeared in the film "Coin Locker Babies". His parents, the Beach Boys, and his work as a music producer with Irina Lazareanu, Esthero, and other musical personalities have always been a source of inspiration for Sean.
