Early Life and Education

Nikolai A. Tarasovwas born in 1910 into a working-class family in Russia. In 1928, he began his career as a laborer at the Lybaevsky Butter Plant in Tomsk. Tarasov later pursued his education, completing dairy science studies at the Kurgan School of Dairy Industry (1928-1931) and the Leningrad Institute of Dairy Industry Engineers (1932-1937).

Party and Government Positions

After graduating, Tarasov held various positions in the food industry. From 1937 to 1939, he served as Deputy Chief Engineer and Head of the Production Department at the Chief Directorate of the Dairy Industry. In 1939, Tarasov enrolled in the Higher Party School of the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks).

During World War II, Tarasov served as Deputy Head of the Political Department for the 2nd Berdichev Infantry School from 1941 to 1944. He later became a Senior Instructor with the Political Department of the South Ural Military District (1944-1946).

Ministry of Meat and Dairy Industry

After the war, Tarasov returned to the food industry. He held several key positions within the Ministry of Meat and Dairy Industry, including:

Chief Engineer (January-April 1946)

Secretary of the Ministry's Party Committee (April-September 1946)
Deputy Minister (1946-1953)

Head of the Chief Directorate of Dairy Industry (March 1953-March 1954)

Minister of Meat and Dairy Products (April 1954-May 1957)

Diplomatic Career

Following his ministerial tenure, Tarasov transitioned into diplomacy. He served as:
