Early Career and Club Experiences
Born in Ukraine, Oleh Zeldi is a former professional soccer player renowned for his defensive skills. He began his career as a youth player for the prestigious Dynamo Kyiv academy. In 2002, he made his debut with Dynamo-3 in Ukraine's Second League.
Over the next few years, Zeldi gained experience with various Dynamo Kyiv reserve teams and played for the club's second team in the First League. In 2005, he had a brief stint with Kyiv's CSKA before returning to Dynamo-3.
Success with Helios Kharkiv
In the summer of 2006, Zeldi joined Helios Kharkiv in the First League. He made an immediate impact, scoring three goals in his first three games. By the end of the autumn portion of the season, he had established himself as a star, earning a place in the First League's symbolic team according to Sport-Express newspaper. Zeldi also won the Helios player of the season award as voted by the club's official website.
Loan to Zakarpattya and Return to Helios
During the first half of the 2007/08 season, Zeldi was loaned to Zakarpattia in the top-flight Ukrainian Premier League. However, he only made one appearance for the club before returning to Helios, where he became a key player.
In the winter of 2008, Zeldi briefly went on trial with Zorya Luhansk, but he was not offered a contract. He then re-joined Kyiv's CSKA in the Second League, where he played 10 matches.
Moves to Prykarpattya and Tavriya
In the summer of 2009, Zeldi moved to Prykarpattya in the western Ukrainian city of Ivano-Frankivsk. After a brief trial with Oleksandriya in January 2010, he signed a one-year contract with Tavriya Simferopol in February 2010.
Despite representing Tavriya in three Premier League matches, Zeldi left the club in the summer of 2010 to once again return to Prykarpattya. He played only three more games for the club before his career began to wind down.
Late Career and Retirement
In early 2011, Zeldi joined Bukovyna Chernivtsi in the Ukrainian Second League. He spent his final years in the lower divisions of Ukrainian soccer before retiring from the sport.
International Career
Zeldi represented Ukraine at the youth level, playing five times for the Under-17 team in 2003. He also made nine appearances for the Under-21 team.
