Early Life and Education

Sergio Cabrera was born into a theatrical family that fled Franco's regime in Spain. At the age of 10, he arrived in China with his parents. He completed Chinese school and later studied philosophy at Peking University. During this time, he became a member of Maoist youth brigades.

Film Studies and Early Career

Cabrera's passion for filmmaking led him to the London International Film School. He began his career with short documentary films and worked as a cinematographer. His breakthrough came with his first feature film, "Técnicas de Duelo: Una cuestión de honor" (1989), which garnered critical acclaim and won several awards.

Return to Spain and Television Work
