Serik Konakbaev, born on October 25, 1959, in Pavlodar, was a Soviet boxer who achieved great success in his career. He was a silver medalist at the 1980 Summer Olympics and a European Champion in 1979 and 1981. He also won a silver medal at the World Championship in 1982 and was a winner of the World Cup in 1979 and 1981. Konakbaev was a three-time champion of the USSR and was honored with the title of Merited Master of Sports of the USSR.
